This week was really interesting, because our research took us outside of the museum, and into the field. We visited Five Pointz in Long Island City, a warehouse in which graffiti artists are allowed to do their work on the outside of their wall (with prior approval, of course). Inside, there are rent-controlled studios for artists to do their work. While we were there, we observed various artists working on the walls, which was a really fascinating sight. We also took photos of graffiti sites nearby.
